National Eating Disorder Awareness Week 2020
Updated: Feb 26, 2020
Awareness Week is very important to me, not only because of my advocacy work but because it falls during the week that Penelope was born. For those of you who don’t know my story, I relapsed with anorexia right before I found out I was pregnant with Penelope. I was spiraling down a dangerous path. Penelope saved my life and I think it’s symbolic that she was born during NEDA Awareness week. Each year, prominent buildings around the US are lit up with colors of blue and green during awareness week. It literally gives me goosebumps every year because I know that all the hard work myself and other advocates are doing is making a difference and we’re helping bring awareness to an illness that holds such a stigma.
